REVAMPED NORTHGATE RIDER STORE RE-OPENS

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce their Northgate location for the Rider Store has re-opened its doors with a new and improved look.
All fans are invited to Northgate to check out the re-vamped layout and design of the Rider Store and check out all the new merchandise which is now available for purchase. There is lots to see including sale items so don't miss out.

Riderville.com is once again offer fans the chance to get their hands on a game worn/autographed helmet. This time around its the Grey Cup MVP James Johnson who is offering up his helmet which was worn in the 2007 Grey Cup game.
To get involved just go under the Fan Zone header and into Auctions where you will find more information and a place to mark your bid.
Johnson's helmet is the fifth in the series of upcoming helmet auctions so don't miss out! Stay tuned to www.riderville.com for all the helmet auctions.
This current auction will close on Monday May 12th, 2008 at 9 am (Sask time).
A portion of the proceeds raised by the helmets will be donated to the player's charity of choice.

The 620 CKRM Rider Cheerleading Team in partnership with the University Of Regina Cheerleaders are set to host Junior Rider Cheer Day 2008.
Participants in two 5 hour clinics taught jointly by the two cheerleading squads. The deadline for registration is quickly approaching so don't miss out! For a registration form just click HERE.
All participants will receive: • Snack and drinks on clinic days • A dri-fit tee • A Rider Cheerleading stunting poster • One game ticket to the June 13th Rider game, plus a discounted rate on additional game day tickets that you purchase • A half-time performance at the June 13th game!
Details • Participants must be between 12 and 18 years of age (inclusive). • Clinic Dates: Sunday, June 1st and Sunday, June 8th from 12-5pm, U of R Campus, Gym #1. • Cost is $150. Deadline for registration: May 16th, 2008. There is a maximum of 200 participants so register early. • Participants will get their game ticket and discount coupon for additional game day tickets on June 1st and their dri-fit tees on June 8th. • Game performance is Sunday, June 13th at 7pm. Prior to half-time, members of the cheerleading team will bring you onto the field. Wait in your seats in your dri-fit tee so we can recognize you!

Round 1 - 4th overall DL Keith Shologan Central Florida Round 2 - 10th overall OL Jonathan St. Pierre Illinois State Round 2 - 14th overall DL Michael Stadnyk Montana Round 4 - 30th overall OL Jean-Francois Montreal Morin-Roberge Round 5 - 40th overall DB Jeff Zelinski Saint Mary’s Round 5 - 41st overall QB Teale Orban Regina With their second round selection (10th overall), the Riders selected offensive lineman Jonathan St. Pierre (6’3 – 315 lbs). The Longueuil, Quebec native has played the last two seasons with Illinois State after spending two seasons with Miami. In 2007, St. Pierre was instrumental in the Redbird running game, which amassed 2,194 rushing yards on the season, the seventh-highest rushing total in school history ... the Redbird offense averaged 402.8 yards of total offense per game ... played 788 snaps with 37 knockdowns.
The Riders made a trade with the B.C. Lions and received the 14th overall pick in the second round as part of that trade for draft pick positioning. The Green and White used that pick to select defensive lineman Michael Stadnyk (6’4 – 247 lbs). The Regina native has been with the University of Montana Grizzlies since 2004. He is a graduate of Miller Comprehensive High School.
With the 30th overall pick in the fourth round (via BC) the Riders selected offensive lineman Jean-Francois Morin-Roberge (6’6 – 320 lbs) from Montreal. In 2007 the Quebec City native was named a CIS first-team all-Canadian - as well as a QUFL first-team all-star for the third consecutive season.
In the fifth round of the draft – 40th overall the Green and White selected defensive back Jeff Zelinski (6’2 – 200lbs) from Saint Mary’s. The Mission, B.C. native was named a CIS second-team all-Canadian and an AUS all-star in 2007. He played all eight games and three post-season including the Vanier Cup. Zelinski finished third in the conference in interceptions with three.
In their final pick of the day in a trade with Hamilton for the 41st overall pick in exchange for a neg list player, the Riders selected Regina quarterback Teale Orban (6’2 – 205 lbs). The 2007 Hec Crighton Canda West Conference nominee was a Canada West all-star, led the CIS in Touchdown passes with 22 and passing yards with 2,273. The Regina Ram a;sp broke U of R single game records in pass completions (38) and attempts (54).
General Manager Eric Tillman is pleased to announce the Saskatchewan Roughriders have used their first draft selection in the first round (4th overall) to select defensive lineman Keith Shologan from Central Florida.
Shologan (6”1 – 275 lbs) has played the last four seasons at Central Florida. As one of UCF's key players on defense Shologan, has started every game for the Knights in the last two seasons.
The Spruce Grove, Alta native is also a four-time Canadian heavyweight wrestling champion.
