ANTHEM SINGER

It was back in the off-season of 2006 when the Roughriders decided to hold open auditions to see who would be named the Rider Anthem Singer.

In the end it was Jeff Sawatzky who received the title and ever since then he has been leading the Green and White along with their dedicated fans in O'Canada each game at Mosaic Stadium.

Now Jeff is a recording artist and his dynamic voice is not only recognizable to Rider Priders, but music lovers all around.

Jeff has launched a CD entitled Fields of Gold which is available for purchase at The Rider Store or for more information visit Jeff's website www.jeffsawatzky.ca

Jeffrey Allan Sawatzky received national recognition at the 2009 Covenant Awards held on October 23 by the Canadian Gospel Music Association in Calgary, AB where his debut CD, Fields of Gold was named Classical/Traditional Album of the Year.

Jeff is great! I just saw him perform in Estevan. The concert time changed to accomodate the Western Finals. He drove in after he sang at the game and performed for us. The whole evening became a rider celebration! He even put little rider footballs up as decoration on the stage! Such a great voice. A Saskatchewan boy.He does such a great show with the lady he sings with - Evie Koop. They sound amazing together. The are just like Saskatchewan's own Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban. Have you ever thought of having them perform at half-time?
All the best at Grey Cup!
