PRO: Third season in Saskatchewan…signed free agent deal with Riders in June, 2008.
2009: Dressed in all 18 regular season games, the West Final and the Grey Cup game as a backup running back…also played on special teams…finished the season with 25 rushes for 135 yards and a touchdown…had 21 kickoff returns for 374 yards…also had eight receptions for 45 yards.
2008: Dressed in 17 regular season games and West Semi-Final…started one regular season game at running back…made CFL and Rider debut in week 2…had eight rushes for 37 yards and first career touchdown in week 12…had nine rushes for 52 yards in week 17…had eight rushes for 65 yards and a touchdown in week 18…finished the season with 27 rushes for 162 yards and two touchdowns.
COLLEGE: Spent five seasons playing for the Regina Thunder in the Canadian Junior Football League…in his final season he led the league with 454 kickoff return yards, was third in receiving yards with 649, fourth in rushing yards with 702 and third in punt-return yards with 268…averaged 259.1 total yards per game and finished with 2,073 all-purpose yards which was easily the highest in the league…was named the team’s MVP in each of his final two seasons.
PERSONAL: Stu lives in Regina year round where he trains at Level 10 with former Rider Dan Farthing. While travelling in the off-season Stu learned to surf in Mexico and snowboard in Kelowna – two sports he now loves. The rest of his free time was spent travelling to Montreal to visit his girlfriend Catherine. Being from Regina, Stu has a large group of supporters who can always be found cheering at the games led by his mom.
